For weeks now Liberal Democrats here have carried the water for Obamacare and have perpetuated the lie that the “public option” is merely a harmless federal government program that will keep private insurance costs in line.

What’s more, these same Liberal Democrat Obama/Pelosi water carriers have dismissed the accusation that this so-called public option is simply that – an option, or a “choice,” that people will have and is, in no way, geared towards drowning out private insurance and thus leaving people with no “choice” but health insurance provided by the federal government (i.e. socialized medicine).

Well, here is the Chairman of the Finance Committee, Rep. Barney Frank, being taped by a group that supports a single-payer, government-run system. They ask Rep. Frank why the Democrats don’t just shoot for that single-payer fantasy – Rep. Frank explains that the votes aren’t there but the “public option” is in fact merely a step towards that direction.

Bottom line – anyone who says that the “public option” is only being proposed to keep private insurance costs down is lying to you.
