It is true and it even looks like Powell is starting to wake up
WASHINGTON (CNN) – In a wide-ranging interview set to air Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union, one of President Barack Obama’s most prominent Republican supporters says he is ‘concerned’ about the new president’s ambitious agenda and the high price tags accompanying many of Obama’s initiatives.
“I’m a little concerned,” former Secretary of State Colin Powell says. “I’m concerned at the number of programs that are being presented, the bills associated with these programs and the additional government that will be needed to execute them.”
Powell also seems to sound a note of warning to the young president.
“I think one of the cautions that has to be given to the president — and I’ve talked to some of his people about this — is that you can’t have so many things on the table that you can’t absorb it all. And we can’t pay for it all.“
Powell apparently thought that with Obama, he would be getting something other than a shitton of new government programs we can’t afford. That’s somewhat funny because Obama is making Bush look like a toddler in the big league of fucking up and spending. Not only that, but he assumes that conservatives actually approve of Bush’s spending habits.
On a side note I can never get over the fact that some mumble out the words “b-b-b-b-but bush did it!!!!!!” as if that somehow gives obama or anyone else a free pass to ruin this country, especially when the same people spent eight years bashing Bush.
Yesterday we had this Gallup Poll that show people are realizing the enormous amout of fail that is Obama:
Special Report: Ideologically, Where Is the U.S. Moving?
Nearly 4 in 10 Americans say their views have grown more conservative
by Lydia Saad
PRINCETON, NJ — Despite the results of the 2008 presidential election, Americans, by a 2-to-1 margin, say their political views in recent years have become more conservative rather than more liberal, 39% to 18%, with 42% saying they have not changed. While independents and Democrats most often say their views haven’t changed, more members of all three major partisan groups indicate that their views have shifted to the right rather than to the left.
These findings, from a June 14-17 Gallup Poll, somewhat conform to Gallup’s annual trends on Americans’ self-defined political ideology. Thus far in 2009 (from January through May), 40% of Americans call themselves conservative, up from 37% in 2007 and 2008, and the highest level since 2004.
I wonder how much longer people are going to put up with the garbage the democrats and Obama are trying to ram deep inside of our collective butthole. Hopefully it is before he is finished ruining America.
Hope and Change
note, I don’t claim McCain would have been any better, that geezer would be Pelosi’s whipping bitch
